1The Lord Jehovah reigns,
His throne is built on high;
The garments He assumes
Are light and majesty;
His glories shine with beams so bright,
No mortal eye can bear the sight.
2The thunders of His hand
Keep the wide world in awe;
His wrath and justice stand
To guard His holy law;
And where His love resolves to bless,
His truth confirms and seals the grace.
3Through all His ancient works
His perfect wisdom shines;
Confounds the powers of hell,
And breaks their dark designs;
Strong is His arm, and shall fulfill
His great decrees, His sovereign will.
4And will this mighty King
Of glory condescend?
And will He write His name
My Father and my Friend?
I love His name, I love His word:
Join all my powers and praise the Lord!
Exodus33:11And the LORD spake unto Moses face to face, as a man speaketh unto his friend. And he turned again into the camp: but his servant Joshua, the son of Nun, a young man, departed not out of the tabernacle.
1 Kings8:27But will God indeed dwell on the earth? behold, the heaven and heaven of heavens cannot contain thee; how much less this house that I have builded?
Psalm47:8God reigneth over the heathen: God sitteth upon the throne of his holiness.
Psalm83:18That men may know that thou, whose name alone is JEHOVAH, art the most high over all the earth.
Psalm93:1 The LORD reigneth, he is clothed with majesty; the LORD is clothed with strength, wherewith he hath girded himself: the world also is stablished, that it cannot be moved. 2 Thy throne is established of old: thou art from everlasting. 3 The floods have lifted up, O LORD, the floods have lifted up their voice; the floods lift up their waves. 4 The LORD on high is mightier than the noise of many waters, yea, than the mighty waves of the sea. 5 Thy testimonies are very sure: holiness becometh thine house, O LORD, for ever.
Psalm97:1The LORD reigneth; let the earth rejoice; let the multitude of isles be glad thereof.
Psalm99:1The LORD reigneth; let the people tremble: he sitteth between the cherubims; let the earth be moved.
Psalm104:1,21 Bless the LORD, O my soul. O LORD my God, thou art very great; thou art clothed with honour and majesty. 2 Who coverest thyself with light as with a garment: who stretchest out the heavens like a curtain:
Jeremiah3:4Wilt thou not from this time cry unto me, My father, thou art the guide of my youth?
John15:15Henceforth I call you not servants; for the servant knoweth not what his lord doeth: but I have called you friends; for all things that I have heard of my Father I have made known unto you.
