1O Love of God, how strong and true!
Eternal, and yet ever new;
Uncomprehended and unbought,
Beyond all knowledge and all thought!
2O Love of God, how deep and great!
Far deeper than man’s deepest hate;
Self-fed, self-kindled, like the light,
Changeless, eternal, infinite!
3O heavenly Love, how precious still
In days of weariness and ill;
In nights of pain and helplessness,
To heal, to comfort, and to bless!
4O wide-embracing, wondrous Love!
We read Thee in the sky above,
We read Thee in the earth below,
In seas that swell and streams that flow.
5We read Thee best in Him Who came
To bear for us the cross of shame;
Sent by the Father from on high,
Our life to live, our death to die.
6We read Thy power to bless and save,
E’en in the darkness of the grave;
Still more in resurrection light,
We read the fullness of Thy might.
7O Love of God, our shield and stay
Through all the perils of our way,
Eternal Love, in Thee we rest,
Forever safe, forever blessed!
Psalm145:9The LORD is good to all: and his tender mercies are over all his works.
Psalm145:10All thy works shall praise thee, O LORD; and thy saints shall bless thee.
John3:16For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.
John16:27For the Father himself loveth you, because ye have loved me, and have believed that I came out from God.
Romans8:38,3938 For I am persuaded, that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor powers, nor things present, nor things to come, 39 Nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature, shall be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.
1 John3:16Hereby perceive we the love of God, because he laid down his life for us: and we ought to lay down our lives for the brethren.
1 John4:9In this was manifested the love of God toward us, because that God sent his only begotten Son into the world, that we might live through him.
1 John4:9,109 In this was manifested the love of God toward us, because that God sent his only begotten Son into the world, that we might live through him. 10 Herein is love, not that we loved God, but that he loved us, and sent his Son to be the propitiation for our sins.
