Ere We Leave Thine Altar, LordRev. Thomas I. Ball (1838-1916)

Hymn NumberTuneComposer or SourceMeter
839DulceSir Joseph Barnby (1838-1896)

1Ere we leave Thine Altar, Lord,
Where Thy Son we have adored,
Let our thanks again arise
For this holy sacrifice.
2And if thoughts have entered in
Which have mixed our prayers with sin
Let Thy Son’s pure blood and grace
All the sinfulness efface.
3Make us, Lord, our whole life through,
Love the good, and speak the true,
Work our work with all our might,
Stand up bravely for the right. Amen.
1 Corinthians11:26For as often as ye eat this bread, and drink this cup, ye do shew the Lord’s death till he come.
