1Jesus! The name high over all,
In hell, or earth, or sky;
Angels and men before it fall,
And devils fear and fly.
2Jesus! The name to sinners dear,
The name to sinners given;
It scatters all their guilty fear,
It turns their hell to heaven.
3Jesus the prisoner’s fetters breaks,
And bruises Satan’s head;
Power into strengthless souls He speaks,
And life into the dead.
4O that the world might taste and see
The riches of His grace!
The arms of love that compass me
Would all mankind embrace.
5His only righteousness I show,
His saving truth proclaim;
’Tis all my business here below
To cry, “Behold the Lamb!”
6Happy, if with my latest breath
I may but gasp His name;
Preach Him to all, and cry in death,
“Behold, behold the Lamb!” Amen.
Genesis3:15And I will put enmity between thee and the woman, and between thy seed and her seed; it shall bruise thy head, and thou shalt bruise his heel.
John1:29,3629 The next day John seeth Jesus coming unto him, and saith, Behold the Lamb of God, which taketh away the sin of the world. 36 And looking upon Jesus as he walked, he saith, Behold the Lamb of God!
Acts8:5,355 Then Philip went down to the city of Samaria, and preached Christ unto them. 35 Then Philip opened his mouth, and began at the same scripture, and preached unto him Jesus.
1 Corinthians2:2For I determined not to know any thing among you, save Jesus Christ, and him crucified.
Philippians2:9-119 Wherefore God also hath highly exalted him, and given him a name which is above every name: 10 That at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of things in heaven, and things in earth, and things under the earth; 11 And that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.
