1Being of beings, God of love!
To Thee our hearts we raise;
Thine all-sustaining power we prove,
And gladly sing Thy praise.
2Thine, only Thine, we pant to be;
Our sacrifice receive;
Made, and preserved, and saved by Thee,
To Thee ourselves we give.
3Heavenward our every wish aspires:
For all Thy mercies’ store,
The sole return Thy love requires
Is that we ask for more.
4For more we ask; we open then
Our hearts to embrace Thy will;
Turn, and revive us, Lord, again,
With all Thy fullness fill.
5Come, Holy Ghost, the Savior’s love
Shed in our hearts abroad!
So shall we ever live, and move,
And be, with Christ in God. Amen.
Psalm85:6Wilt thou not revive us again: that thy people may rejoice in thee?
Romans5:5And hope maketh not ashamed; because the love of God is shed abroad in our hearts by the Holy Ghost which is given unto us.
2 Corinthians13:11Finally, brethren, farewell. Be perfect, be of good comfort, be of one mind, live in peace; and the God of love and peace shall be with you.
